Northline is a family-run HVAC company that has kept Kelowna homes warm and cool for 23 years. Call before 2pm and a licensed technician is at your door the same day — with no call-out fee, ever.
Open 7am–8pm, seven days. After-hours emergency line answered by a person, not a machine.
Most Kelowna HVAC shops will book you in for Thursday. In January that's three nights with space heaters, or a July week at 34°C with the blinds shut. We built our whole schedule around not doing that to people — we hold slots open every single day for breakdowns.
Not a call centre in another province. Usually Dana, who has been booking our jobs for eleven years and can tell from your description whether it's urgent.
A two-hour window, and a text when the technician leaves the previous job. No "somewhere between 8 and 5."
We find the fault, tell you the price in writing, and you decide. If you say no, you owe nothing — that's what no call-out fee actually means.
Our vans carry the parts that fail most: igniters, capacitors, contactors, blower motors, control boards for the common Lennox and Carrier units.
We don't do ducts for new builds or commercial rooftop units. We do residential heating and cooling in the Central Okanagan, which is why we're fast at it.
Not cooling, freezing up, tripping the breaker, or running constantly. Capacitors, contactors, refrigerant leaks, condenser fan motors, thermostat faults.
No heat, short cycling, blowing cold, error codes, pilot and ignition failures. Gas and electric, every major brand sold in BC since the nineties.
When a repair costs more than half a new unit, we say so. Heat pumps, high-efficiency furnaces, full AC systems — including the BC and federal rebate paperwork.
The 45-minute service that stops the January 2am failure. Book the furnace in autumn, the AC in spring, or both on one visit.
Fair question, and one most HVAC sites dodge. Answer three things and you'll get the honest range we'd quote over the phone. The exact number comes after we see it — free.
This estimator covers repairs. Full replacements are quoted in person after a load calculation — there's no honest way to price a new system from three dropdowns.
Same-day call-outs carry a priority surcharge because we hold the slot open. Everything else here is our standard rate.
Nine out of ten repairs land inside this range. If yours won't, we tell you before we start — not after.
Ray Kowalchuk started Northline out of a single van on Gordon Drive in 2003, after a decade installing furnaces for someone else. His daughter Erin runs the operation now. Ray still takes the difficult diagnostic calls, mostly because he can't help himself.
We've stayed deliberately small — four technicians, all Red Seal, all on payroll rather than subcontracted. It means we can't be everywhere. It also means the person at your door has worked here for years and will be here next winter when you call about the warranty.
We've never charged a call-out fee. Not in 23 years. Charging someone to find out what's wrong before they've agreed to anything always struck Ray as a strange way to introduce yourself.
Furnace quit at 6am on a Tuesday in January with a newborn in the house. I called four places. Northline was the only one that said today. Technician was here by 11, had it running by 12:30. Cracked igniter, $290.
Marisa T.Glenmore, KelownaAnother company told me I needed a whole new AC unit — $9,400. Ray came out, found a failed capacitor, replaced it for $240 and told me the system had six or seven years left in it. That was three summers ago and it's still running.
Dave P.Lower MissionHeat pump died during that 40-degree stretch. They couldn't get to me until the next morning but they said so straight up instead of stringing me along, and dropped off two portable units to get us through the night. Who does that?
Sandeep K.West KelownaSame-day slots show up in the calendar until they're gone for the day. Choose one and you'll get a confirmation text within a minute, then another when the technician is on the way.
7am–8pm, seven days a week. After hours, the same number reaches our on-call technician.
